Social Media Rules and Policy
We expect all individuals who are at Willowbrooke Farm to abide by and respect our social media policy, which prioritizes safety, professionalism, and respect, requiring permission for photos/videos, banning negative talk or “horse fails”, showing horses in good light (no ribs/poor grooming), and clarifying that personal posts reflect on the farm.
We have strict rules against harassment, bullying, ad unauthorized recording on premises to protect privacy and liability.
Core Principles:
Be Positive & Professional: Everyone wants to see their horses happy and healthy; avoid negativity about others; and use common sense when posting pictures.
Safety First: Don't post unsafe photos (e.g. precarious selfies); ensure good grooming/condition in images.
Respect Privacy & Ownership: Get permission from owners before posting about their horses.
No “Horse Fails”: Don't post videos of falls, injuries or “bad” moments of others; it is hurtful and can harm reputation.
Reflect the Farm: Your posts represent the barn, trainer, and barnmates. Let's show everyone our great barn spirit!
Specific Rules for Clients & Visitors:
Permission is Key: Ask permissions before posting photos/videos of leased, sold or “catch ride” horses. We want everyone to be respected and respectful.
No Unauthorized Recording: Prohibit recording devices in private areas (stables, tack rooms, fields) without explicit permission.
Adhere to the “Thumper Rule”: If you can't say something nice, don't say anything. No one should harass, bully or create an unauthorized recording of someone while on the premises of Willlowbrooke Farm.
Remove on Request: Take down posts/photos if an owner or person asks you to.
